The growing popularity of babywearing in our modern society makes more parents aware of an amazing tool to meet their children’s need to be close to them while keeping up with a busy schedule. Very young babies feel most secure when they in their parents’ arms, where food and warmth are readily available. A toddler can be kept safe from vehicles or other dangers in public, and receive the reassurance that a loving caregiver provides when they become overstimulated. As with any tool, there are guidelines to make its use as safe as possible.
Babywearing safety begins with choosing the right carrier. There are many choices in modern baby carriers, to fit every budget and style. Make sure the carrier you choose is appropriate for the age of your baby. Is your child within the

We all know the benefits of yoga and the benefits of babywearing. Since I'm a fan of both, I love that I'm able to combine them to help create baby-friendly exercise that we both can enjoy. Yoga and babywearing are a natural fit as the meditative nature helps soothe baby and since it's low-impact, it's very easy to involve baby in my practice.
Benefits of baby friendly exercise:
more achievable (no need to fit in around baby’s sleep schedule – baby can sleep in the carrier)
more affordable (no need to pay a babysitter)
more enjoyable (in a group setting)
more accountable (build relationships and receive encouragement from fellow moms)
more effective (baby weight increases mom’s weight bearing capacity)
a great fun time to bond with baby!
I've put together a few of my favorite poses to do while babywearing. Always remember while wearing your baby to be safe and careful!

For parents who carry their little one in a sling or a carrier, sunscreen is not a choice - it’s a must. Although the sleeping hood on the Ergobaby baby carrier has 50+ UPF protection, frequent babywearing parents should still take care to properly protect their little peanuts from sunburn.
Don’t let the thought of sun exposure dissuade you from wearing your baby as much as possible. Holding your baby in a carrier provides security for babies as they experience the familiar sensations they had in the womb like hearing your voice, feeling your heartbeat and your rhythmic breathing. Many moms also like being able to quickly respond to their baby’s cries and the benefits of increased eye-to-eye contact when carrying baby so closely.

Hope your week is going well and that you are on your way to finding your best post-baby body by applying the first 2 keys for success. Before we take a look at the 3rd key, let’s do a quick review. Forgive me, I was a teacher in my former life ...
Key # 1 – Exercising with your baby in the Ergo

- Put your baby in the Ergo and try out the Workout with your baby video (Note: By clicking the link, you are agreeing to the Tailored Fitness Terms of Use)

It's no news that summer is hot and when you've got a little one one your body, it's even hotter. And while there aren't any baby carriers with an air conditioner feature, there ARE carriers that are built in with ultimate breathability. Plus, we can offer a few tips for babywearing in hot weather ;)
1. Dress both yourself and baby for the weather.
Light and airy clothes are best. We like linen or 100% cotton or linen, although sporty performance fabrics are also great if that is your style! Remember that whatever carrier you are using acts as a layer, too. Also keep sun protection in mind. Baby Legs or other leg/arm covers are an easy on/off way to provide light protection while staying cool (some Baby Legs even have UV protection).
2. Keep a layer of fabric between you and baby to help make things feel less sticky!

I have breastfed all of my babies. When my first born was a year old, I quit nursing her cold turkey. Being 21 and quick to accept advice, I listened when the pediatrician said that I didn't need to nurse her past a year old, and that quitting right after her birthday was best. Truthfully, I snuck in a few extra nursing sessions- sobbing my eyes out thinking that each session was our last. I got terrible mastitis when she was 14 months old, and went through the worst pain. The nursing experience ended on a sad note, and I couldn't wait to have another baby and begin the sweet journey all over again.
We then had Riley.
And another loss after that.
When my next love was born, I soaked it all in. By that time, I had done so much research on babies in general, that I knew long-term breastfeeding was our plan. My first son nursed until he was two and half years old. He weaned himself, and it was the smoothest transition I had ever experienced.
When our second son was

I believe sharing what you are passionate about with your children can be such a gift to them. In my opinion, it inspires your children to find things in life that they are passionate about. For me, it is Holy Yoga (a Christian based approach to yoga). I'm a certified yoga instructor, and I am currently going through Holy Yoga training to become a Holy Yoga instructor. Next to being a mother and wife, it is what I am passionate about. I love incorporating my faith into movement of body, mind, and spirit.
It can be difficult finding the time to exercise as a new mom. But it doesn't have to be! Incorporate your time on your mat with your little ones! Below are a few yoga poses you can do with your little one in your Ergo.
I would suggest having bare feet when you practice, and to stand near a wall or a sturdy chair to balance yourself while practicing yoga with a little one in tow. Take all the precautions

Especially if daddy’s doing the babywearing. On a hot day!
We set out one morning (a bit later than we’d planned) to harvest fresh, ripe blueberries from our local berry farm.
Set on a windy hillside, the acres of land include a playground, farm store, pond, and fields after fields of fruit trees and berry bushes. It’s truly a sight to behold as you drive in, and then later as you ride the truck out to the berry patch.
Daddy and sons took a stroll out to find frogs while we waited for the farm truck.
Babywearing while berry picking is a must, as you’re not likely getting a stroller onto the bench-seat-only farm truck. At least not without some frowns from the other passengers who’d love the space!
Plus, the
