Please tell us a little about yourself and what you do for work.
I'm mama to two young children living in Austin, Texas where I host a birth stories podcast called The Birth Hour. My mission with The Birth Hour is to encourage women to be informed about pregnancy and childbirth and know their options while creating a community for moms to support one another through pregnancy and motherhood. The podcast has grown rapidly since its launch in 2015 with over 4 million downloads and a supportive Instagram community. This year The Birth Hour launched it's first online course

The Original and Four Position 360 baby carriers are designed to carry most children from birth (at least 7 pounds) with the use of the infant insert, which provides cushion and support. Infants are soft and floppy and lack the ability to hold their head and trunk up on their own. The Ergobaby infant insert provides this needed support that is not present in the carrier without it. Think of a taco holding everything up and in. This insert keeps the airway open and provides a swaddling effect that both soothes and protects the infant.

Early on I knew something was unique about my son. Everything about him just seemed more intense than other babies his age. He cried a lot, seemed behind on his developmental milestones, everything about him was just “more” summarizes how I felt at the time, and babywearing kept us all together. Looking back now I realize that I was indeed suffering from postpartum depression and some PTSD, and carrying for a high needs infant seemed to exacerbate or increase the symptoms. Breastfeeding didn’t go well, I received some really terrible advice, and pumping seemed like a special kind of torture. So we didn’t, and then came on more guilt. Not the ideal birth, not breastfeeding? What kind of Mom was I? This is where

Just like in the Omni 360 baby carrier, once your baby is able to sit up on her own, you can face her out in the Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh. But, we've made it even easier with the Cool Air Mesh Sliders! (Other milestones to consider: Once your baby can see above the front panel of the carrier, has strong head & neck control, and has a natural curiosity to see and interact with the world, they are ready for front-outward carry. This is usually around 5-6 months, depending on your baby.) And since we know that you're a mama-on-the-go (what mom isn't?!), you want to be able to switch baby easily from facing in to facing

When I first got pregnant I had no idea what breastfeeding would be like. I just assumed it was a way I would feed my baby but didn’t even consider the difficulties or support a mother needed to get through that journey!
Now 3 children later, I STILL ask for tips/help sometimes. Breastfeeding is such a beautiful thing to be able to do but it also has it’s challenges. From the initial latch struggles, to the fatigue from nursing through the night, and just having to be there on demand to breastfeed. Nonetheless there are many ways to make it work well for you through the 2 years (or less or more depending on your situation). Here are 10 things that can help you through your journey.
1. A Strong Mindset
With each baby, the breastfeeding experience will be different. You supply will vary, it might hurt more or less, you might get tired more or less, your baby might keep you

Pregnancy is an intense period in any woman’s life, filled with surprisingly rich and varied emotions, as well as visions of your future life as a mother. Amidst the joyful prospects of soon being able to welcome your little one, some expectant mothers are concerned that they may develop a postpartum mood disorder or depression.
Postpartum depression is among the most disabling disorders for women in their childbearing years and the leading cause of non-obstetric hospitalization among women in the United States, affecting as many as 1 in 5 women. And because it happens during that very period where the new baby is the most vulnerable and sensitive to a mother’s mood and behavior, this depression can have a strong impact on the developing child, as well as the whole family.
In this article, we will review the basic understanding of postpartum

Modern motherhood comes with an abundance of joy...and information! For one thing, we have access to seemingly unlimited resources and knowledge on how to mother “best." It seems that everyone has an opinion on how best to raise children. We are overwhelmed with choices on which bed to choose, which high chair, which feeding method, which birth method. With answers close at hand online, it doesn’t take much time to question your intuition. Don’t forget that your mommy intuition is almost a sixth sense! Mothers have relied on their intuition for millennia to protect and nourish their babies. We can still tap into that resource. Many times, having good information and tools can help us tap into that mother’s intuition more readily. I’m here to remind you not to discount your own motherly wisdom. I know personally how easy it is to second-guess my own decisions when it comes to parenting and motherhood, so today I’m sharing three tips that have helped me trust my mommy intuition:
