Ergobaby and Christy Turlington Burns' Every Mother Counts have joined forces in an exclusive collaboration.
The Guest Designer collaboration between Ergobaby and Every Mother Counts (EMC) is our first initiative that aims to be a multi-year collaboration with various celebrities led by Christy's Turlington Burns’ vision and creative direction to benefit families everywhere around the world. The result is a new selection of premium Ergobaby products, part of Ergobaby's Designer Collection, with a portion of the proceeds to help prevent pregnancy-related complications.
EMC aims to increase education and support for maternal mortality reduction globally and engage new audiences to better understand the challenges and the solutions while encouraging them to take action to improve the lives of girls and women worldwide.
While for many women pregnancy is an exciting and joyful experience, for others it can be a death sentence. Everyday, 1000 women lose their lives due to complications caused by pregnancy or childbirth, leaving thousands of children never having met their mothers. Although reproductive health problems are the leading cause of death worldwide among women ages 14 to 44, experts estimate that 90% of these deaths are preventable.
In honor of this special cause, we want to hear your birth stories. With this collaboration, we celebrate and support mothers and birth worldwide. With that in mind, we will be featuring birth stories over the course of the month. Every birth is unique, special and is a common human link. Every mother counts, and we want to hear your story. Each story selected will receive a carrier or accessory from this special line. Additionally, Every Mother Counts will post your story to their wall. Every voice counts.
Together, we can raise awareness of this important issue and celebrate maternal health and birth worldwide.
The Every Mother Counts Guest Designer Series will be revealed on October 10 and a portion of the proceeds of each sale will directly benefit EMC.
Submit your birth story to submissions@ergobaby.com.
Submissions must be emailed to submissions@ergobaby.com. Stories should be 500-1000 words and include at least one (1) photo, no more than six (6). Photo size must not exceed 2MB. Submissions must be received by October 31, 2012 at midnight PST to be considered for publication and eligible for a prize. Open to US residents only, please.
